Unexpectedly, I needed to go to NAIA on that gloomy Wednesday afternoon to fetch a loved one at the airport. I hated it for the first time.
And I dont know why, for the first time also, I wished I could go on watching the lonely scenarios all over the boob tube that day. I am not a big fan of Kris, nor Cory. Never have I enjoyed watching the sentiments of this country - except for this one, but I had to leave.
The way to Sucat was soooo long due to traffic. Three hours passed and we finally come close to Sucat exit, the entrance to reality which I had been closely watching on TV. It was something different as I look outside the car window. The shouts were more heartfelt, the yellow shirts and ribbons more vivid.
This is history! I'm glad I could take a closer look.
We passed thru a sea of people shouting Cory! Cory! while flashing the Laban sign. The sight was made even more melodramatic with the song "handog ng pilipino sa mundo" playing at the background. It was amazing how one simple woman could move thousands to brave the storm, how one's death could relive the spirits of a people who must have lost their trust to the rulers of this nation.
My one hand was holding my phone, while the other began to form the Laban sign. Outside, I had seen the people waving back their laban signs at me, with a smile and with pride.
